Hi, here is my first attempt at blogging, which shouldn't be that difficult as I used to do that verbally every Sunday!

Since this is my first entry, I am going to tell you what I plan to do with the page that has my name on it. This is my Author page. I've wanted to gather all the things I've written (that I care to share) and to have a place where I can post future material. I have written a few plays we've used in church and I'll put the better ones on here. If you care to use them, feel free. They are free. Just cite the source please...somewhere in the program give the author credit for having written it, if you please.

You will note that I enjoy posting photos. I will put the nature type of photo on, and you may use any of them as a screen saver, etc. if you wish. Family: Don't worry, I won't put up any family photos.

What I am really looking forward to is putting up photos and links for my serious writing. I wrote and acted a play, "The Redeemer of Stony Corners" a few years ago. It was a plan I had to answer my own question, "what if Jesus parables--at least some of them--were taken from the life of a single person" Who would that person be and what parables would define that person's life and character? "Redeemer" attempts to answer that question.

The play worked moderately well, but since then, I've thought that it would do better as a short story, so that's what I've done. I am going to publish it as a digital short story on Amazon and maybe elsewhere. Once I get that done, I'll give you the link for finding it, if you like.

And the big piece of news is that I am in the final stages of a novel I've been working on for a long time now. It's gone through a couple of name changes, but I think I've settled on "Spirit Code: Alien Presence". It is what's called speculative fiction. It involves conversations with a warrior angel, a bit of romance, (this seems to gross out my daughters), and some suspense.  I've sometimes had fun writing it, and from time to time I've felt it was trying to kill me. At other times I'd have cheerfully burned it if it was on paper. But none of those has happened and I hope it will be publisheed, maybe by sometime this fall. We'll see.

But anyone who knows me, knows I have many opinions on many topics. For the most part, I keep them to myself on Facebook, which I keep as light and friendly as possible. But here I will say what I think on a number of topics. One topic I do not plan to engage in is partisan politics. I will comment on events and political leadership and issues as they occur, but will not push my voting preference. 

So that's about it. Now I have to search the different buttons on the administrator's website to see how I publish this and where to find the links I can share with you.
